Why did you start your podcast?
I'm an entrepreneur who runs a creative branding agency www.nomadcre8tive.com - I've had the opportunity to meet so many incredible founders and leaders by networking and was always curious about their careers, journeys and if they had similar struggles or experiences as me. I started The Mindfulpreneur Podcast as a means to connect with inspiring people on a more personal level and expose myself to their experiences, to bring further value to my own. I love seeing people succeed and supporting other creators, leaders and entrepreneurs.
What's been your biggest challenge?
When I first started I had no credibility or experience in podcasting and wasn't sure if anyone would be:
1 - interested in being a guest, and
2 - interested in listening to what I had to say.
I've always loved public speaking and find myself to be quite engaging and outgoing, so I went for it. I've been overcome with the response, having reached over 35K+ accounts on Instagram in the last 30 days, despite having just over 150 followers. It goes to show how collaboration and community could impact your reach and success. Originally my biggest challenge was getting people to follow through with my podcast application process and actually book the recording, but I've built some momentum and find it to me smooth sailing now.
How has podcasting impacted your personal and professional life?
As mentioned previously, I'm getting a lot of exposure by collaborating with influencers and creators with large followings. I've been building my network and growing relationships with people I would have otherwise had no reason to reach out to. The biggest benefit in my opinion is the knowledge I get to be exposed to as a result of the new connections I've made.
What advice do you have for new podcasters?
Be yourself, people don't resonate with fake and can see right through it. Get good equipment, it makes a difference! Be prepared, but not overly - it's important for the conversation to flow and feel natural.
Anything else you'd like to share with the world?
I've travelled to over 30 countries and continue to check them off my list :)
