Tell us about your show!

Grounded in Maine is an open conversation about how we show up for the world. I’m talking to people who are practicing sustainability in different ways to encourage us all to do something, because it’s all working toward the solution to climate change.

Why did you start your podcast?

I want to learn new ways to be sustainable. Also, I grew up in, and I love the 80’s, a carefree time of excess and convenience, which probably is a big part of why our climate is such a mess right now. So this is a way for me to be accountable and try to make up for the 80’s.

What's been your biggest challenge?

Tech is my nemesis, now that I’m able to talk without paralyzing fear. Organization and overwhelm, because I’m subscribing to every podcast newsletter under the sun, and I feel I need to read it ALL.

How has podcasting impacted your personal and professional life?

Podcasting has been the biggest cool thing in my life! The people I’ve met, conversations I’ve had, all I’ve learned on and off the recordings. Networking has been the most addicting thing for me. And facing fears and self consciousness has been difficult and also rewarding.

What advice do you have new podcasters?

Don’t wait; start as you are! It will get easier and better. Be authentic- don’t sound like everyone else. Join groups and make friends with other podcasters- that support is unmatched.

Anything else you'd like to share with world?

I used to be a great singer, and then anxiety won. I only sing in the car or the kitchen. Also, I have a jam business on the side.
