Tell us about your show!
A sports commentary show focused on the NFL specifically America’s Team the Dallas Cowboys. It’s for any fan of the NFL or the Dallas Cowboys. Even someone wanting to learn about the sport.
Why did you start your podcast?
We got tired of shock jocks and talking heads needing to be provocative and making outlandish takes just to get clicks and views. We wanted to make a sports show for regular people who love conversations like you would with friends.
What's been your biggest challenge so far?
Editing and marketing. Getting our name out there is a constant grind.
How has podcasting impacted your personal and professional life?
It has helped us to become more organized. We can better articulate our thoughts in a cogent manner so anyone with any level of education can understand. We relate to more people from more walks of life. It has taught us to listen before We speak.
What advice do you have for new podcasters?
Our best advice is research, research, research. And just when you feel like quitting that’s when you start the podcast. Don’t dwell on mistakes. Have someone you can bounce ideas off of that is not an echo chamber. Be open to constructive criticism. We are all a lot stronger than we think.
Anything else you'd like to share with the world?
Great organizations do 2 things. They do the right thing and then they do it again. Be consistent and don’t compromise your values.
How has Podium improved your workflow?
Prescott considered himself a writer but the descriptions and notes Podium creates has been a godsend. We just have to tweak it a little to match our style but the writing is top notch. It allows us more time to create and come up with other ideas to make the show better.
