On the Advisory Board {INSIDER} podcast, every episode helps listeners understand, engage, implement and optimize an advisory board in their business or organization. My guests include advisory board sponsors, advisors, chairs, industry experts as well as others who can bring perspective to the process. As a subscriber to the podcast, you get rich insights and diverse points of view as you consider, add, update or optimize your advisory board.
Why did you start your podcast?
I had a podcast before it was cool. My first podcast was launched in July of 2010. My reason was because I love hearing people's stories, especially entrepreneurs. After completing that podcast series, I now run two other concurrent podcasts, for much the same reasons.
What's been your biggest challenge?
Guests and time to prepare. I have an editor for the shows, but trying to manage the front-end finding, connecting and scheduling guests to do the interviews has been challenging.
How has podcasting impacted your personal and professional life?
Connections and relationships. But also to have a perpetual voice in specific industries. I've grown as I've become a better questioner and listener.
What advice do you have new podcasters?
I say this to my clients: your goal is 50 episodes. When you get to 50 you have a podcast. You have to keep going and keep recording. In the process, you find your voice.
Anything else you'd like to share with world?
Chipmunks are not cute. They are guerrilla warriors who have become my arch-rivals around my property. Want to trigger my dark side? Mention these tiny pests.
How has Podium improved your workflow?
I LOVE Podium. It's taken the pain of the blank page away after I look at a transcript of an episode. The initial summaries help me to write the show notes quickly and efficiently, something I've spent years struggling with. Add the ChatGPT (PodiumGPT) interface and that adds a whole level of "amazing", to writing posts for social posting and more.
